Treasure

On August 17, 2024, Payton and Shawnna exchanged their vows at The Barn in Lorena, Texas, on a sweltering summer day. Surrounded by family and friends, the couple embraced the warmth of the season as they celebrated their love amidst rustic charm and natural beauty. The sun filtered through The Barn’s windows, casting a warm glow on the elegant wildflower arrangements that adorned the venue. Laughter and joy filled the air as the couple took their first steps into a lifetime together, creating memories that would be cherished for years to come.

Love is a treasure for which we can never pay. The only way we keep it is to give it away.
— Jim Stovall

How it all began…

Payton and Shawnna met about three years ago while working at Walmart, where their shifts rarely overlapped—Payton on the second shift and Shawnna on the third. It was during one late evening that Payton mustered the courage to approach Shawnna, introducing himself amid the bustle of aisles and customers. That simple interaction sparked a connection that would grow into a beautiful relationship. Since that day, every moment they have shared has felt like a dream come true, as they continue to support and inspire each other in their personal and professional lives.

Payton and Shawnna finally embarked on their first date, enjoying lunch at Whataburger, conveniently located just down the road from the Walmart where they both worked. After their meal, they decided to take a stroll in Woodway Park, creating an inviting atmosphere for deeper conversation. As they talked, they discovered that they shared similar opinions on a variety of topics, which fostered an effortless connection between them. Their ease of communication highlighted a promising bond, making the afternoon not just a simple lunch but the beginning of something meaningful.

Eventually, Payton would propose to Shawnna at Woodway Park, the very place where their journey together had begun on their first date. Surrounded by the familiar sights and sounds that had witnessed their initial moments of joy and discovery, Payton carefully chose a quiet spot evoking memories of laughter and shared dreams. With a heart full of love and anticipation, he presented a ring that symbolized not just a promise, but a future entwined with all the beautiful experiences they had yet to share. As Shawnna looked into his eyes, the park transformed into a canvas of their love story, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.

Their relationship today…

Payton and Shawnna often find themselves debating their dinner options, usually landing on Whataburger or Chick-Fil-A. Once they've satisfied their cravings, they head to Andy's Frozen Custard in downtown Waco to indulge in a sweet treat. The vibrant atmosphere allows them to enjoy a dessert while engaging in a little people-watching, soaking in the lively interactions around them. Their routine has become a cherished tradition that blends good food with delightful moments spent together.

Their relationship can be described as a remarkable combination of excitement, trust, compassion, humor, and an enduring quality that seems to defy time. Each moment spent together is filled with laughter and light-heartedness, balancing deeper conversations that reveal an unwavering support for one another. This bond fosters a unique comfort that feels unmatched, allowing them to truly be themselves without fear of judgment. In each other’s presence, they find a safe haven where shared experiences and memories create a tapestry of love and friendship that only grows stronger through the years.

Smith Family Photography wishes Payton and Shawnna a lifetime of happiness as they embark on this beautiful journey of marriage. May each day be filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments that strengthen the bond between you. As you create a shared path together, may your hearts always find joy in the little things and support each other through every challenge. Congratulations on this wonderful new chapter in your lives!

Travis and Amanda exchanged vows and became husband and wife on June 22, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mexia, Texas. The historic church provided a beautiful setting for the couple's nuptials, with its traditional architecture and elegant decor creating a timeless backdrop for their special day. Family and friends gathered to witness their union and shower them with love and best wishes as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives together. The ceremony was a touching celebration of love and commitment, reflecting the deep bond between Travis and Amanda as they pledged to stand by each other through thick and thin.

Where it all began…

Travis and Amanda first met while working at the Limestone Medical Center in Groesbeck, Texas. Travis was employed in ER Admissions, while Amanda worked as a nurse on the medical floor. Their paths crossed frequently as they both diligently carried out their responsibilities within the hospital's bustling environment. Over time, their professional relationship blossomed into a deep friendship based on mutual respect and understanding of the challenges they faced in their respective roles. Their shared dedication to providing exceptional care to patients formed the foundation of a strong bond that would eventually grow beyond the confines of the hospital walls.

Travis and Amanda embarked on their first date, starting with a friendly bowling match. Despite Travis claiming he hadn't bowled in ages, he effortlessly scored strike after strike, much to Amanda's amazement. The competitive spirit fueled their laughter and banter, making the evening even more enjoyable. Afterwards, they headed to Chuy's to indulge in some Tex-Mex food. They shared stories and got to know each other better in the cozy ambiance of the restaurant. The clinking of glasses and the sound of chatter enveloped them in a bubble of happiness, signaling the promising beginning of what could be a beautiful journey together.

the proposal…

Travis proposed to Amanda on the San Antonio Riverwalk under a dark, starry night. The serene ambiance and the sparkling night sky created a truly magical moment for them. With no one around, the proposal felt incredibly intimate, as if time stood still just for the two of them amidst the city's hustle and bustle.

as a couple…

Travis and Amanda cherish their routine date nights, centered around sharing a meal together. Whether they decide to catch a movie at the local theater or opt for a cozy night in watching a television show, their evenings always culminate with a sweet treat - indulging in Crumbl cookies. This shared dessert adds a delightful touch to their already perfect nights spent together.

They are not only best friends; they are also incredibly goofy, fun, and content in their relationship. Their bond goes beyond just companionship; it's a deep connection filled with laughter, silliness, and genuine joy. Watching them interact is like witnessing a perfect harmony of two souls completely at ease with each other. Whether they are cracking jokes, engaging in playful banter, or simply enjoying each other's company in silence, their friendship radiates warmth and comfort. Together, they create a world that is full of happiness, acceptance, and undeniable love.

Travis loves Amanda's smile and Amanda loves how sweet Travis is and how comfortable she is around him. They share a connection that goes beyond words, a bond built on mutual admiration and genuine affection. Travis's eyes light up every time Amanda flashes her radiant smile, while Amanda cherishes the moments spent in Travis's kind and reassuring presence. Their love is effortless, a natural fit that brings out the best in each other. In each other's company, Travis and Amanda have found a sense of home, a place where their hearts are free to be themselves.

Love at First Sight

Imagine finding both love and friendship in one person.

Where it all began…

Friend request sent. Friend request accepted.

Tiffany and Jacob originally became friends through Facebook. Jacob liked Tiffany’s photos. Tiffany liked Jacob’s photos. Jacob remained silent, saying nothing at all. Tiffany decided to message Jacob first.

Eventually the two would meet on Sunday, June 28, 2019 at an Applebee’s near Somerville, Texas. Jacob drove from Deer Park and Tiffany drove from Temple, Texas. Tiffany made sure to arrive first so she would have time to make sure her hair and makeup was absolutely perfect. She remembers thinking to herself, “Lord, please let this first meeting go well.”

Soon after Tiffany’s arrival, Jacob arrived. He opened the door, got out of his truck and walked around to Tiffany’s car to meet her. She remembers thinking, “Oh man, he’s so hot!”

Their lunch date lasted for hours! Tiffany just kept talking! She wanted Jacob to know her entire life story. Jacob barely ate or spoke throughout the entire lunch. Eventually the two decided to continue the date by getting into Jacob’s truck and driving to Somerville Lake. The date would last five more hours! From that very day, the two of them found a way to be together every chance they could get.

The proposal…

Saturday, May 1, 2020 was the day Jacob would propose to Tiffany. He had a plan that began with having his parents babysit the kids the two of them could have a date night. They went to 1424 Bistro in Waco, Texas. The setting was so romantic! They enjoyed a delicious dinner and as their meal came to an end the waitstaff asked if they’d like dessert. Tiffany always gets chocolate so she placed her order for dessert. Earlier Jacob had the waitstaff write, “Tiffany, will you marry me?” on the plate along with the chocolate cake she would order. The waitstaff brought out the chocolate cake and Tiffany noticed everyone standing around with their cellphones recording. She assumed it was someone’s birthday that was seated near them. Jacob stood up and walked around to Tiffany’s side of the table. He had Tiffany stand up and he proceeded to get down on one knee as he asked her to marry him. She then realized that the entire restaurant was in on the whole thing!

The wedding…

Tiffany and Jacob exchanged vows on November 20, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West, Texas. This church holds a special meaning for the two of them. Jacob’s parents and grandparents were also married in that very church.

November 20, 2021 was a gorgeous day for a wedding complete with bright blue skies, blustery winds and warm sunshine! Their wedding was complete with a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a reception with their closest family and friends celebrating alongside them. They enjoyed dinner followed by cake and LOTS of dancing! Everyone was genuinely happy for the lovely couple. They have an incredible amount of love for each other, their children and their family and friends. They are truly blessed.

Blessed are the ones who have friends like family and family like friends.

Tears of Joy

On April 24th, 2021 Brandon and Meagan exchanged vows at New Hope Baptist Church in Riesel, Texas. It was a sunny day with perfect temperatures. Perfect weather for a wedding! After the ceremony everyone would travel to Elk Hall in Axtell, Texas for the reception.

Meagan and Brandon had an emotional ceremony. There were so many tears - tears of joy! He cried. She cried. The kids cried. It seems that nearly everyone was crying because they were incredibly happy for them as a couple, but also for them as a family. Meagan has stepped up and has taken on the role of being a mother to three children that aren’t biologically hers and Brandon has done the same for one child that isn’t biologically his. If you sat and observed them as a family, you would never be able to tell that all four children are not biologically both of theirs. It’s truly amazing to watch them interact with each other as one family without any labels. They all love BIG! Each and every one of them love and care for each other in a way that just can’t be described in words. I witnessed this firsthand at their engagement session where I learned so much about all of them.

The groomsmen decided to be funny during portraits and pull out the tissues for Brandon. He cried during the ceremony, along with nearly everyone else.

At the reception I must admit, again I was amazed with these two. They can DANCE!! I have never seen a first dance between the newlyweds as good as theirs! The two danced perfectly in step with one another. They never missed a step. The never missed a spin. They never missed a kiss. And they even never missed a dip! Impressive for sure! Nearly all their dates before COVID involved dinner and dancing - and it shows! These two are definitely in sync with each other.

These two can DANCE!

These two can DANCE!

When you dance, your purpose is not to get to a certain place on the floor. It’s to enjoy each step along the way.
