Why Don't We Just Dance

Jacob and Taylor exchanged their vows on October 26, 2024, at Old Bethany in Bruceville, Texas, surrounded by family and friends. Despite the hot, sunny conditions typical of Central Texas, the couple found solace in the cool, air-conditioned venue. Sunlight streamed through the windows, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere as they promised to share their lives together. The love and joy in the room were palpable, making it a memorable day for everyone in attendance.

As Jacob entered the ceremony with his groomsmen in tow, there was excitement in the air. The bridesmaids began walking down the aisle, and among them was Mila, the beloved pup of Jacob and Taylor, bringing smiles to all. The white barn doors stood closed, creating an air of anticipation, knowing that in just a few moments, they would slide open to reveal Taylor walking down the aisle with her father. Her wedding gown, a breathtaking vision, fit her perfectly, and the joy evident on her face was reflected in the eyes of everyone gathered, eagerly awaiting this cherished moment.

how it all began…

Jacob and Taylor both worked at HEB and met on Halloween, a day filled with festive energy and creativity. Jacob approached Taylor, intrigued by her costume that stood out among their coworkers. Their conversation flowed easily as they discussed the inspiration behind her costume. What began as a simple inquiry about attire quickly blossomed into a meaningful connection, sparking the beginning of a friendship that would grow stronger with each passing day.

Their first date began with an undeniable sense of excitement as they met at the vibrant arcade, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and ringing games. They played a few games before heading to Texas Roadhouse, where the warm, rustic atmosphere and the aroma of delicious food welcomed them. Over plates of food and freshly baked bread, they shared stories and laughter, creating a memorable evening that marked the start of something special

During the dinner conversation, Taylor revealed her extreme clumsiness, a fact she found amusing yet nerve-wracking on this particular date. Her nerves got the best of her, causing her to barely touch her meal. After dinner, Jacob kindly dropped her off at her car, but just as she was getting settled in, she accidentally dropped her leftover steak right onto the floorboard. The moment caught them both off guard, but it eventually became a cherished memory they still laugh about today..

the proposal…

On their one-year anniversary of dating, Jacob and Taylor decided to celebrate at Texas Roadhouse, a favorite spot for its lively atmosphere and hearty meals. Jacob surprised Taylor by asking if her parents could join them, a request that seemed perfectly natural to her given his close bond with his own family. After enjoying a delightful dinner filled with laughter and good food, they stepped out into the warm evening air. In the quiet of the parking lot, Jacob looked into Taylor’s eyes, his expression earnest and filled with love, and proposed, turning what started as a simple anniversary dinner into a moment they would cherish forever.

Today…

Jacob and Taylor cherish their time together at home, whether they are curled up on the couch watching a movie or engaged in a spirited board game match. Their connection runs deep, creating an atmosphere of safety and support that allows both of them to truly be themselves. They describe their relationship as loving, fun, and joyous, highlighting the solid foundation they have built over time. Each moment spent together is a reminder of how wonderful their bond is, and they take joy in the simple pleasures of shared laughter and friendly competition, reinforcing the strength of their partnership.

“The Office” perfectly encapsulates their life together, as they first crossed paths in a workplace reminiscent of Dunder Mifflin, where laughter and camaraderie thrived. Like the show's characters, we found joy in the mundane and created our own inside jokes, turning daily tasks into shared adventures. Our mutual sense of humor deepened our connection, making work the backdrop for both collaboration and fun. Whether we’re quoting favorite lines or embracing the quirky dynamics of our co-workers, the spirit of “The Office” serves as a constant reminder of the laughter that brought us together and continues to enrich our relationship.

The song "Why Don't We Just Dance" by Josh Turner holds a special place in their hearts as a couple. Every time the upbeat melody fills the kitchen, it transforms their home into a lively dance floor. They're drawn to the simplicity and joy portrayed in the lyrics, which reflect their own relationship. Together, they sway to the music, laughing and enjoying each other's company, creating cherished memories that reinforce their bond. The kitchen, often a hub of daily life, becomes a sanctuary of love and connection, all thanks to this cherished tune.

Smith Family Photography extends heartfelt wishes to Jacob and Taylor for a long life together filled with love and happiness. Being present at their wedding as photographers was an amazing experience, allowing us to capture the essence of their special day. The memories we documented will provide their family with countless moments to cherish and reminisce about for many years to come. We are honored to have been part of such a beautiful celebration.

Where it all began…

Friend request sent. Friend request accepted.

Tiffany and Jacob originally became friends through Facebook. Jacob liked Tiffany’s photos. Tiffany liked Jacob’s photos. Jacob remained silent, saying nothing at all. Tiffany decided to message Jacob first.

Eventually the two would meet on Sunday, June 28, 2019 at an Applebee’s near Somerville, Texas. Jacob drove from Deer Park and Tiffany drove from Temple, Texas. Tiffany made sure to arrive first so she would have time to make sure her hair and makeup was absolutely perfect. She remembers thinking to herself, “Lord, please let this first meeting go well.”

Soon after Tiffany’s arrival, Jacob arrived. He opened the door, got out of his truck and walked around to Tiffany’s car to meet her. She remembers thinking, “Oh man, he’s so hot!”

Their lunch date lasted for hours! Tiffany just kept talking! She wanted Jacob to know her entire life story. Jacob barely ate or spoke throughout the entire lunch. Eventually the two decided to continue the date by getting into Jacob’s truck and driving to Somerville Lake. The date would last five more hours! From that very day, the two of them found a way to be together every chance they could get.

The proposal…

Saturday, May 1, 2020 was the day Jacob would propose to Tiffany. He had a plan that began with having his parents babysit the kids the two of them could have a date night. They went to 1424 Bistro in Waco, Texas. The setting was so romantic! They enjoyed a delicious dinner and as their meal came to an end the waitstaff asked if they’d like dessert. Tiffany always gets chocolate so she placed her order for dessert. Earlier Jacob had the waitstaff write, “Tiffany, will you marry me?” on the plate along with the chocolate cake she would order. The waitstaff brought out the chocolate cake and Tiffany noticed everyone standing around with their cellphones recording. She assumed it was someone’s birthday that was seated near them. Jacob stood up and walked around to Tiffany’s side of the table. He had Tiffany stand up and he proceeded to get down on one knee as he asked her to marry him. She then realized that the entire restaurant was in on the whole thing!

The wedding…

Tiffany and Jacob exchanged vows on November 20, 2021 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in West, Texas. This church holds a special meaning for the two of them. Jacob’s parents and grandparents were also married in that very church.

November 20, 2021 was a gorgeous day for a wedding complete with bright blue skies, blustery winds and warm sunshine! Their wedding was complete with a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a reception with their closest family and friends celebrating alongside them. They enjoyed dinner followed by cake and LOTS of dancing! Everyone was genuinely happy for the lovely couple. They have an incredible amount of love for each other, their children and their family and friends. They are truly blessed.

Blessed are the ones who have friends like family and family like friends.

Bagels and Coffee

We can learn a lot from trees; they’re always grounded, but never stop reaching heavenward.
— Everett Mamor

Beneath a canopy of pecan trees on a warm, sunny day, Victoria and Brennen would say, “I Do,” on May 15, 2021. The two love being surrounded by green trees so this particular location on Victoria’s grandparents property in Groesbeck, Texas, was absolutely perfect.

Where It All Began…

Victoria and Brennen began talking to each other through a dating app called Coffee Meets Bagel. Eventually they decided that they should meet and they did just that. They met at Black Walnut Cafe and enjoyed fancy grilled cheese sandwiches while Brennen talked Victoria’s ears off! Afterwards they walked around the park at the Shops at Legacy in Plano, Texas.

On March 9, 2020 Brennen proposed to Victoria at Devils Bridge in Sedona, Arizona while they were on vacation with Victoria’s family. They had just hiked a four mile trail up a mountain and on the way back down, they took a break. During this break, Brennen got down on one knee and asked Victoria for her hand in marriage on the side of a huge rock that was overlooking the mountain valley in front of her family.

To this day, there isn’t a day that goes by where one of them doesn’t crack the other one up with some silly joke or gesture. Victoria says she’s constantly laughing and saying, “You are stupid!,” while wiping laughing tears out of her eyes.

They enjoy spending time together and often have date nights which typically include grabbing a meal curbside from a restaurant and going home to watch a movie with ice cream or going out to eat followed by exploring random stores on the way home.

Brennen loves that Victoria is supportive, caring, hard-working and nerdy. Victoria loves that Brennen is creative, has the ability to calm her down when she’s stressed out and tells great jokes which make her laugh.

Their Wedding Day…

Victoria and Brennen wanted a wedding ceremony that took place among green trees and a reception that was full of laughter, fun and memories. Their wedding day was all that and more! The ceremony took place on Victoria’s grandparents property with plenty of mature pecan trees. Brennen stood at the altar with the officiant (Victoria’s grandmother) and his best man, waiting for his beautiful bride to be escorted down the aisle by her father. Victoria’s entrance was unique. She sat on the back of a Corvette convertible as her dad drove her to the beginning of the aisle. He put the car in park and proceeded to walk her down the aisle to Brennen to give away his little girl.

After the ceremony everyone traveled to the Groesbeck Convention Center for the reception. As they made their entrance, the two immediately went into their first dance. You could definitely see how happy the two are together!

dancing blog.jpg

After they shared their first dance, it was the Father/Daughter Dance followed the Mother/Son Dance. During both of these dances, the newlyweds invited ALL father/daughter and mother/son duos to dance with them! There were so many smiles from everyone in the room!

The dancing continued throughout the evening and there was plenty of laughter shared! Memories were made.
